Who is Heidi & cie?
Heidi & cie is a pet business specializing in dogs and cats, founded in 2007.
With two locations in the Greater Montreal area, we are proud to offer our customers an exceptional selection of healthy pet food and quality products for dogs and cats. Many of these products are made right here in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada.
Our Dog and Cat Stores in Montreal
The Heidi & cie Canine Centre, located at 1270 Sainte-Hélène Street in Longueuil, was our first location. Since then, we have specialized in pet nutrition to help you provide the best possible food for your dogs and cats.
Our Rosemont pet store has been serving customers since 2009.
It is located at 3764 Masson Street in Montreal, between 17th and 18th Avenues.

The Mission of Heidi & cie
Heidi & cie’s primary mission is to strengthen the relationship between people and their dogs and cats by offering:

- Responsible practices regarding the use of resources, including a preference for buying locally.

At Heidi & cie, we carefully select dog and cat food brands known for the quality of their ingredients, transparency and variety of nutritional options. We particularly favor a number of Quebec and Canadian manufacturers.

You’ll notice that we stand out by not carrying certain popular brands, such as Eukanuba, Pro Plan, Royal Canin and Science Diet, in our pet stores.
Whether you have a Chihuahua, Bulldog, Labrador or Golden Retriever, or a Persian or Sphynx cat, our selection gives you plenty of options to find the right food for your pet. Our products are suitable for dogs and cats of all breeds!

In addition, all of our dog and cat food brands meet or exceed AAFCO nutritional requirements. Our selection includes formulas for all breeds and contains no animal by-products. Several of our brands, such as Acana and Orijen, also use a significant amount of fresh meat as a key ingredient.
Whether you have a puppy, adult or senior dog, and regardless of whether it is a small, medium or large breed, we can help you find a food that suits its needs. The same applies to kittens, adult cats and senior cats. After all, we specialize in canine and feline nutrition for all breeds and life stages.
We carry both grain-free and grain-inclusive formulas for dogs and cats, often from the same brands.
And for large dogs, we also offer larger, more economical bag sizes. This also applies to raw pet food, with 5 Star, Karnivor, Faim Museau and Pur Evolution formulas as well as XL formats from Big Country Raw.
Dog and Cat Food for Specific Nutritional Needs
It is important to adapt your pet’s diet to its individual nutritional needs.
For example, a pregnant dog or cat should be fed a food with an appropriate, higher protein level and, of course, the right amount of food. Likewise, puppies and kittens need a diet specifically adapted to their growth and life stage.
For other needs, such as digestive issues, sensitive skin or stomach, overweight, weight management, dental care or urinary health, there are specific kibble formulas available. Nutrience Care+ and Farmina formulas, for example, offer interesting options to consider.
Of course, when trying to address a nutritional issue, it is also important to pay attention to the treats given to our four-legged friends!
For dogs or cats with food allergies or intolerances, our wide variety of animal protein sources makes it easier to find suitable options.
Chicken and poultry remain among the most common meat sources in dog food, particularly in puppy formulas.
However, alternative animal proteins such as lamb, bison, beef, duck, goat, turkey, fish including salmon, and pork are also available.
For raw feeding, we also offer single-protein formulas such as rabbit and kangaroo that can be suitable for both dogs and cats.
Supplements
If you choose to feed a raw or homemade diet, supplements may be required to ensure that your pet receives all the nutrients needed for a complete and balanced diet.
We carry a variety of supplements, including probiotics and prebiotics, green-lipped mussel, fish oils, kelp, vitamins, joint supplements and more.
At Heidi & cie, you will find brands such as Omega Alpha, Patte d’eau bio, Pur Evolution, THRIVE and several others.
AnimasoinBIO – Quality Grooming and Care Products
We are proud to carry AnimasoinBIO professional grooming and pet care products in our stores.
We offer degreasing, therapeutic and finishing shampoos, conditioners, fragrances, detanglers and exceptional care products such as SOS Bobo.
We also carry shedding-care creams and shampoos that can help reduce loose hair and make shedding season more manageable.
You may be surprised by the results these products can have on your pet’s coat!
However, always check the logos and information on the labels to determine whether a particular product is suitable for cats.

We also offer a wide selection of brushes, combs and nail clippers.
An Ethical Pet Business
Heidi & cie is an ethical pet business that does not sell animals, and we are proud of that.
We have even received our Humane Society certificate, which we proudly display in our stores.
Unfortunately, buying animals from pet stores can still contribute to the puppy mill industry. The best option is to adopt from one of the many shelters and rescue organizations, or to purchase from ethical and responsible breeders.
Where Does the Name Heidi & cie Come From?
Heidi was actually our little Miniature Schnauzer. She inspired the name of our company and our pet stores!
And who is the “cie” (company)?
All the other dogs and cats whose health and well-being are our top priority. 🙂
